Chris,
ReplyDeleteYou did an amazing job with this blog post. You gave excellent descriptions on all of the books that you provided and even provided pictures of each cover. You went the extra mile with this post. Several books were read in classrooms around the school I recently worked at. We even had a theme each week where we placed rain drops or water droplets on a wall in the main hallway of the school. It was related to the book "How full is your bucket." We placed ideas on how people can be kind to others around the school, at home and in the community.
Thanks Jamal. I feel the cover art is important in elementary reading; as a lot of children will "unplug" if it does not look interesting to them.
DeleteI really like the "bucket" theme as it gives a tangible example of how to behave at all times to younger students who may not understand the concept of how an act of kindness can help themselves and each other.
I love the Berenstain Bears! My daughter has Little Blue Truck, can't believe I didn't think about that one! They definitely show kindness to one another! :)
ReplyDeleteI had to pick the Berenstain Bears. I loved those books as a kid myself. Great illustrations, easy to read, etc. I myself had not physically come across the Little Blue Truck books, but I was intrigued with their framework and story lines. Glad a picked a good one. Hahaha
DeleteThanks Carrie.
You have some really great books on there. I love Little Blue Truck and so do my kids! We had a few of the same ones also.
ReplyDeleteThanks Angee.
ReplyDeleteFantastic list. Next week, I want you to add why these books are good for this list. In this case, why kindness is important to teach, and why these books would help. Excellent list.
ReplyDeleteThis is a great list! With all of the blogs I will never run out of book ideas.
